Opportunity Cloud

Project Opportunity Cloud addresses international poverty in a unique way.

Some individuals in Kenya make wages that are under the international poverty line ($1 USD). In recent years, online platforms have started to pay individuals for microtasking. Microtasking refers to the process of splitting a large data-processing job into small tasks that can easily be distributed and completed on the internet. Common microtasking jobs include collecting emails from public profiles or correctly identifying audio messages.

These tasks pay on average $1 per hour or 24 times the international poverty line wage! .

While many Kenyans have the ability and resources to complete these online tasks, it is difficult for American-based microtasking companies to navigate international financing regulations. Given the logistical difficulties, Kenyans are not able to earn wages from these microtasking companies.

Opportunity Cloud addresses this issue by partnering with microtasking platforms to connect Kenyan individuals with well-paying tasks while consulting on and facilitating the wage payment process.
